Club Terms
The plain-language deal behind your membership and the Club Store. Using the site, joining a season, or buying from the store means you're agreeing to what's on this page.

The deal
Club dues buy one seasonof membership: the season's digital merit badge workbook, the honor-based tracker, your banner, and the run of Members Only for that season. A season is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — nothing renews on its own, and your membership ends when the season does. Badges you earned stay on your banner for good.
Your account
- Accounts are for grown-ups — you must be 18 or older.
- One account per person, and your sign-in links are yours alone — treat them like a house key.
- Keep your email current; it's how the club reaches you and how you sign in.
The honor system
The whole club runs on it. Log merit badges you really earned, tell the truth in your field notes, and be kind on the Bulletin Board. Club HQ may take down content — or, for serious or repeated abuse, close an account — to protect the club and its members. Refunds in that rare case follow the refund terms below.
Your content
- Your logs, notes, and photos are yours. By choosing “share with the troop” on a log, you give the club permission to show that log — signed with your name and hometown, with the badge, your note and photo — on the Bulletin Board, on the club website, and in club newsletters. Logs you keep private are never shown.
- You can flip a shared log back to private in your journal any time, and it comes off the board.
- Only upload photos you have the right to share — and if other people are in them, make sure they're fine with it.
Purchases, shipping & tax
- Prices are in US dollars; sales tax is calculated and added at checkout where it applies.
- Payment happens on Stripe's secure checkout — the club never sees or stores card numbers.
- Parcels currently ship within the United States. Everything is packed by hand at Club HQ, so give it a little country time.
Refunds
- Club dues — full refund any time before your season opens. Once the season is underway, dues are generally non-refundable — but if something's truly wrong, write us and a human will work it out with you.
- Store goods — arrived damaged, wrong, or not at all? Email hq@propermountainwoman.com within 30 days of delivery and we'll make it right with a replacement or a refund.
- Rendezvous & event tickets— plans change; write us before the event and we'll do right by you.
Patches & mailed rewards
What arrives by mail is exactly what How it Workspromises: the season's top rank patch and the season's limited editions. Merit badges themselves live on your digital banner.
Junior Mountaineers
The junior program is purchased and supervised by a parent or guardian. Kids don't get accounts; the workbook and patches go to the grown-up's address, and the adventures are the family's own.
The club's stuff
The club's name, badge and patch artwork, workbooks, and the words on this site belong to the club. They're for your personal club life — enjoy them, print them, pin them up — not for reselling or reprinting commercially.
The real world
Merit badges are earned out in actual life — hikes, kitchens, campfires, cold lakes. You know your body, your limits, and your circumstances; use your own good judgment, because the club can't use it for you. The site itself is provided as-is, and to the extent the law allows, the club's responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid the club in the past twelve months.
Where disputes go
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah. If we ever have a real disagreement, let's talk first — hq@propermountainwoman.com reaches a person, not a robot.
If this page changes
We'll update the date at the top, and meaningful changes get a mention in the club's letters. Continuing to use the site after a change means the new terms apply.
